Fastest ever Bentley revealed

With the launch of Bentley’s new GT Speed a battle sparked with its rival Aston Martin which has also brought out its own 183mph supercar. The Aston Martin 310 Vanquish.

Now for those of you who don’t know yet and are outright speed junkies, Bentley has revealed their fastest model ever. Clearly the 328.31 km/h wasn’t good enough. The new Bentley Continental GT Speed is an entire mile quicker than the Supersport’s Coupe and clocks in at 329.92 km/h.

Bentley has enhanced the normal 6.0 litre twin turbo W12 GT’s 567HP engine to 621HP with a phenomenal 590lb of torque which is enough to boost the GT Speed from 0 – 100km/h in 3.7 seconds flat and on that to 329.92 km/h top speed.

The four-wheel-drive Bentley is equipped with a new eight-speed automatic gearbox with F1 style manual override paddles and features a lowered ride height, revised settings for suspension and steering and rides on 21inch wheels fitted with Pirelli PZero ultra high performance racing tyres.

Inside the hand-crafted, diamond stitched cabin the GT Speed features the ‘Mulliner Driving Specification’ leather trim as standard.

Exterior changes are subtle with a dark-tinted matrix front grille, lower air intakes and a rifled finish to the exhaust.

The GT Speed with its harder-edged, sportier character reaffirms this peak positioning and continues to broaden the worldwide appeal of the Continental Coupe.

Bentley’s fastest ever Continental will debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Visitors will be able to see it in action as it tackles the hill climb with Guy Smith and Derek Bell behind the wheel.

With the Bentley GT Speed aimed at driving enthusiasts coming in at a price of 1,952,824 ZAR it’s a bit costly…
