Mureza overview
The new African car brand was released at Automechanika, which took place from 18 to 21 September at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg. Mureza has teamed up with the SAIPA Group to bring this exciting offering to local shores. This Iranian group will supply some of the main components for the Mureza vehicles. However, Mureza has a vision to develop and build the vehicles in Africa going forward. Their aim is to build vehicles on the African continent that are designed to meet the requirements of African motorists. Assembly
The first model you can expect to see from the new African car brand is the Prim8. This vehicle will be built from SKD kits in South Africa before expanding their operations to Zimbabwe and Botswana. These kits have been adjusted to build right-hand-drive models. The Prim8 comes with a three-year warranty.
Performance
The Prim8 is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which has an output of 87kW. It features a five-speed manual transmission. This model is also available with a CVT transmission. Mureza aims to sell this model on the local market for between R180 000 and R200 000.
