This idea here, according to Fiat, was to create something that has ”The toughness of a square and the softness of a circle”. Aesthetically, the new Panda designers have made use of more rounded lines and shapes. The front seats are slimmer and provides more legroom to the passengers seated on the rear seats. The boot provides up to 870 liters of space and the car has fourteen storage areas, this includes a new sunglasses holder above the driver’s window that really comes in handy when you have nowhere to put your sunglasses. The Fiat Panda might be small on the outside, but the proportions and comfort provided inside will make you think twice.
The Panda is available in 7 body colours with 3 interior trim options and comes with 15-inch alloy wheels.
Technology & safety
As we mentioned before, the Panda is packed with new gadgets and features. The entry-level Fiat Panda for sale features a radio with CD player and four speakers, while the higher priced Fiat Panda lounge model features Fiat’s Blue&Me hands-free with Bluetooth system including voice recognition, USB and Aux-in ports, MP3 player and SMS interpreter with 10 easy-to-use button controls on the steering wheel.
If you want a little more in terms of navigation, you can go for the optional extra Blue&Me TomTom Live, which combines the car’s infotainment system with a portable navigation system. The normal features are also here such as a CD / MP3 player and six speakers. Electric windows, central locking and air conditioning are also included.
The safety features are abundant in the Panda. The vehicle comes standard with four airbags and an ABS stopping system with brake assist. It has electronic stability control with a hill-hold system which automatically locks the brake for two seconds during uphill starts. The Panda has front seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiter which prevent the belt from applying too much pressure during a quick stop. To top it all off, the vehicle has an anti-whiplash system as well as ISOFIX anchors for easy child seat installation.
Engine
The Fiat Panda is powered by a 1.2-litre EVO II engine, which produces 51kW and 102Nm of torque. It has a five-speed manual transmission with a claimed fuel consumption of 5.2 litres/100km. The car goes from 0 to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds. The slow acceleration should not concern you though as the vehicle is nippy and is perfectly designed to navigate inner city roads. It also features very low carbon emissions, emissions rating of 120g/km, so you won’t be damaging the environment either.
