A lot of people are constantly waiting for their next big break, to win a fantastic prize, but unfortunately there are people that take advantage of those desires and send out false advertisements.
Recently there has been an increase of scams circling the networks and it’s important that you are alert and aware so that you don’t fall victim.
When you have received a text message or an email where you are listed as a lucky winner, then first ask yourself…Have I entered any competitions recently? And is the mentioned company advertising this completion publicly? If not, and you never entered or registered for anything, then 99% of the time it is a scam.
Be aware if you receive an unfamiliar text message like this one for example:
AUTOMART TOYOTA DRAW: Dear Subscriber!!!You Have Been Rewarded A Brand New TOYOTA YARIS 2015 MODEL CAR,Contact Us Via (078)620 **** For Claims.Ts&Cs Apply.
This message is a typical example of a scam sms, it is filled with grammar mistakes and there is no affiliation between the advertised competition and the Auto Mart brand. Our current #AutoMartSelfie competition is advertised via our blog posts, email campaigns and all our social networks. If you ever receive a message and are unsure to whether it is a scam or not, then do not hesitate to contact Auto Mart on +27 11 912 6500, or view our blog or Facebook page to see whether we are promoting such a campaign.
Our current Selfie competition is still running and closes 30 April 2015. Click here for competition details on how to enter. Remember T&C’s apply.
