Peugeot 206: Still a great out-of-the-ordinary city car

A stunning city car, the Peugeot 206, though no longer in production, still remains a great vehicle. The Peugeot 206 for sale boasts a fun look and, whether you are a hot hatch fan or more of a Coupe Cabriolet kind of person, the 206 range from Peugeot has everything you need.

Classified as a supermini car (a vehicle that is smaller than a family car but bigger than a city car) The Peugeot 206 was produced between 1998 and 2010. One of Peugeot’s bestselling vehicles, the 206 received a front-wheel drive platform that was built in the UK and France.

Deciding not to replace the 205, citing that the superminis were no longer worthwhile and profitable, Peugeot hoped that their new and smaller supermini (the 106) would take care of the of the lower end market of the 205 and the lower range 306 models would take care of the top-end 205 market.

After the 205 was phased out, other superminis (like the Polo and Ford Fiesta) still sold well. A replacement for the 205 was needed and the Peugeot 206 was born.

Originally launched as a hatchback, models of the Peugeot 206 for sale grew to include not only a hatch, but a Coupe Cabriolet (CC) and an Estate Car (in the form of the SW) as well.

The replacement for the 206 came in the form of the Peugeot 207 in 2006.
